The Politician's Wife

The Politician's Wife is a television political drama written by Paula Milne, broadcast on Channel 4 and starring Juliet Stevenson and Trevor Eve. The narrative centers around politician Duncan Matlock, Families Minister for the UK Government, that becomes entangled in scandal as it is discovered that he has been having an affair with a former escort turned Communist researcher. Duncan's wife Flora becomes the focus of media attention as her responses to the revelations are performed. Initially she plays the portion of the loyal wife out, however a aide for her partner feeds her factual statements concerning the affair and several different scandals that can be forced to occur. She begins to sabotage reputation and her husband's integrity to Conservative Party stalwarts and the press by means of a campaign of leaks and misinformation. After a series of more breathtaking and damaging stories from the press, her husband is forced to resign in humiliation. The previous episode closes with all the results of the. Flora Matlock wins with all the support of her party whilst her husband is circulated to some minor post in Belgium.
