Ripping Yarns
Ripping Yarns is actually a British tv comedy show. It was written by Michael Palin and Terry Jones of Monty Python fame. It was transmitted on BBC 2. After a first pilot incident at January 1976, it ran for just 2 collection of three and five episodes in October 1979 and October 1977 respectively. Each incident had characters and an alternative setting, each parodying pre-World War II literature and looking at a different part of British civilization. In the name,"ripping" is a chiefly British slang meaning"excellent" or even"fine", and"yarns" is a colloquialism for stories that are exaggerated.
