Planet in Peril

Planet in Peril is just a two-part, four-hour documentary on CNN that premiered on October 2-3, 2007, broadcast at the CNN Presents format. It also aired a unique presentation on December 2 & 3 on Animal Earth HD & Animal Earth. CNN's Anderson Cooper, Sanjay Gupta and Animal Planet's Jeff Corwin research the current state of our globe, concentrating on four areas: global warming, over population, deforestation and species loss. They record to the worldwide atmosphere including Alaska, Brazil, Madagascar, Southeast Asia, and Yellowstone National Park, assessing the consequences of population increase, rising temperatures amongst others, from a broad variety of locations. Specific areas it deals with are the conflict from the Niger Delta and La Oroya. In Peril, known as Planet in Peril: Battle Lines, CNN established a sequel to Earth on December 11, 2008. It comprised Lisa Ling, Sanjay Gupta, also Anderson Cooper in National Geographic Explorer.
