Agony
Agony is a British sitcom which aired from 1979 to 1981 on ITV. It starred Maureen Lipman being a thriving agony aunt however my very own life and marriage would be a disaster. It had been written by Len Richmond, Anna Raeburn, Stan Hey and Andrew Nickolds. LWT created for the ITV network it.
Although a comedy, Agony sometimes dealt with issues which were seen as taboo during that time like drug use, racism, abortion, interracial relationships, and swinging, and has been the earliest British sit com to depict a gay couple as non-camp, witty, intelligent and happy folks. It also openly mocked the government, the ruling classes, and religion, and also contained storylines.
