Witch Hunt
"Witch Hunt" is a compelling critique of the American justice system presented through the eyes of one small town. Bakersfield, California voters have elected a tough-on-crime district attorney for more than 25 years. Hundreds of innocent working-class mothers and fathers were convicted during his tenure. They spent years in prison before being exonerated, some for decades. He is still in power today. On a micro level, this story reflects what the United States has gone through over the last eight years. When authority is permitted to flourish without checks and balances, civil liberties are jeopardized.
