The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: The True Story
This renowned story was first written in 1900 by L Frank Baum, a Chicago businessman, writer, poultry breeder, actor, boutique operator, Hollywood movie director and lifelong fan of all things. His life spanned an age of achievement and invention in the united states and also a number of these developments helped fuel this story teller's imagination. His dream was to produce the very first American fairytale that is real and inspire, the story continues to fascinate and engage millions of fans of all ages from all over the universe. This documentary explores the way the Wonderful Wizard of Oz has come to symbolise the American Dream also includes previously unseen footage from the Baum family archives, still photographs and clips by early Oz films, as well as interviews with family members, literary pros and American historians as it tells the story of a single person's lifetime in parallel to the development of modern America.
