The Girl
Director Alfred Hitchcock is admired as one of the greatest creative minds in the annals of cinema. Known for his thrillers, Hitchcock ladies were trendy, beautiful and rather blonde. One actress was Tippi Hedren, an unknown fashion model awarded her major break when she was seen by Hitchcock's wife to a television commercial. Brought to Universal Studios, Hedren was shocked when the manager, at the peak of the career, quickly cast her into star in his second feature, 1963's The Birds. Little did Hedren know that terrifying and ambitious while the production is to shoot, the film's most chilling aspect finished up coming from behind the camera.
