Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration
On October 16, 1992, an diverse and extraordinary group of musicians gathered in Madison Square Garden in nyc for the purpose of observing the music of Bob Dylan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of record. Bringing together greats as far flung as Johnny Cash along with Eddie Vedder, Lou Reed and The Clancy Brothers, the show celebrated a remarkable lifetime of songs in front of a sold-out audience of over 18,000. Warmly dubbed the Bobfest by participant Neil Young, the series featured a cast of musical notables performing frequently surprising and carefully chosen collections from the Dylan songbook and was broadcast across the globe. At day's end, the person of honour himself appeared and brought everything back home again. At a universe where celebrity gatherings have become common place, a event that was memorable stood.
